Abstract
We have presented a case of infantile cortical hyperostosis in which the diagnosis
was not arrived at immediately because of lack of familiarity with the disease by
the clinicians and the pathologist involved. The incompatibility of the original microscopic
diagnosis with the clinical picture led to consultation and a correct diagnosis. This
case is noteworthy because of the extremely mild form in which the disease occurred,
with clinical and roentgenographic evidence showing recovery nearly complete within
four months.
