Abstract
The problems associated with traumatic detachment of the lingual musculature from
the mandible with concurrent oral-cutaneous fistulization and related open mandibular
fractures are discussed. A case is reported in which treatment of such an injury,
combining surgery and a prosthetic device, led to a successful conclusion.
