Abstract
The clinical and histopathologic features of forty-six cases recorded as lateral periodontal

varying degrees of inflammation. The data, although inconclusive, suggest that cysts
arising in the lateral periodontal area may be of either an inflammatory or developmental
odontogenic origin.
