A 16-year-old female presented for routine dental care. On initial examination, a
single, well-defined, sessile, firm exophytic submucosal lesion was detected on the
right posterolateral border of the tongue. The lesion presented as a smooth pink dome-shaped
nonulcerated mass. It was non-tender to palpation. According to the patient, it had
been present for several years (Fig. 1, Fig. 2). At the time of presentation, the patient did not have fever, fatigue, airway obstruction,
or lymphadenopathy. The patient was healthy without systemic diseases or underlying
syndromes. No relevant family medical history was recorded during anamnesis.
